Set up Aramex

Aramex books parcels from your own Aramex account. Ask your Aramex sales contact for API access, then enter the account details in KinMol and book a test shipment before going live. Aramex Nepal sets up delivery updates by hand, on request.

What to have ready

  • An Aramex account number.
  • The name of your Aramex sales contact, who arranges API access.
  • Your office code, the three-letter code Aramex uses for your city, for example KTM.
  • A secret you choose yourself for delivery updates. Any long mix of letters and numbers will do.

Steps

  1. Ask for API access

Ask your Aramex sales contact for Shipping Services and Rate Calculator API access. Ask for it on both the test environment and live.

  2. Collect the account details

Aramex gives you a user name, a password, an account number, an account PIN, an account entity and a country code. The account entity is your office code, for example KTM. The country code is two letters, for example NP.

  3. Enter them in KinMol

In KinMol, open Delivery, then Configure Aramex. Enter all the details. Leave the product type as OND unless Aramex tells you otherwise. KinMol checks the login with Aramex before saving it.

  4. Ask Aramex Nepal for delivery updates

Aramex sets up the webhook for you. Choose a secret, enter it in KinMol, then email Aramex Nepal using the text in the Delivery updates section below.

  5. Book a test shipment

Tick the test account box in KinMol and book one parcel. Check the label address Aramex returns. Untick the box when you are ready to book real parcels.

Delivery updates

Aramex does not have a webhook page you can fill in. Email Aramex Nepal and ask them to set it up. Copy this text, fill in the brackets, and send it. Subject: Webhook for delivery updates Hello, Please set up a webhook on my Aramex account so delivery updates reach my shop software. Business name: [your business name] Account number: [your Aramex account number] Webhook address: [paste the address KinMol shows] Shared secret: [the secret you chose] Please tell me how the secret is sent with each update, and send me one sample update so I can check it. Please tell me when it is switched on. Thank you, [your name] Until Aramex has set it up, KinMol checks the status of each parcel by its tracking number.

Trying it out

Tick the test account box in KinMol and book one parcel. Check the label address Aramex returns matches your shop. Untick the box to book real parcels.

If something goes wrong

Aramex refuses the login.
Check the user name, password, account number and account PIN against what your sales contact sent. The test environment and live use different details.
The account entity is refused.
Ask Aramex for your office code. It is three letters and it is not always the airport code.
Delivery updates do not arrive.
Aramex sets the webhook up by hand, and it can take some days. Until then KinMol checks status by tracking number. Ask Aramex Nepal to confirm they have the right address and the same secret as in KinMol.
