KinMol vs Vyapar

If you use Vyapar today and are looking at KinMol, here is what KinMol does, what is not ready yet, and how to move your records.

Vyapar is a billing, stock and accounting app for small businesses, with apps for phones and desktop computers. We do not list its features or prices here: they change, and Vyapar describes them best. Below is what KinMol does, so you can set it beside what you use now.

What KinMol does

  • Made around Nepal’s rules: VAT per item, your PAN on bills, the Shrawan to Asar fiscal year in Bikram Sambat, and IRD’s sales and purchase books in the 2078/79 format.

  • Annex 13, the e-TDS file and TDS held back by customers, ready for your accountant.

  • Every screen of the web console and the app in Nepali, in the words IRD and Nepali accountants use.

  • Double-entry books with a seat for your accountant and read-only seats for an auditor.

  • A website for your business at yourname.kinmol.com or your own domain, with online orders and payments into your own Fonepay, eSewa or Khalti account.

  • Book Pathao, Nepal Can Move or Aramex from the order.

  • A shop assistant that answers customers on your website, Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp.

  • Tables, a kitchen screen, QR ordering from the table and a hotel front desk, for cafes and hotels.

  • Free to run your business on. You pay only for NEX, the AI assistant, if you use it, and KinMol takes no cut of your sales.

Not ready yet

Tax invoices switch on once IRD approves KinMol’s e-Billing software. Until then every sale prints a numbered payment receipt. The KinMol app for Android is in testing on Google Play.

When it may still suit you

If you need tax invoices from your billing software today, KinMol cannot give you those until IRD approves its e-Billing software. We will say so on the What’s live page the day it does.

Moving your records

  • 1

Export from the app you use now

Many billing apps can save items, parties and reports as an Excel file. Save what you can as .xlsx or CSV.

  • 2

    Bring your items across

In Stock, open Import stock and choose a CSV or Excel (.xlsx) file. Download the template there so the columns match. KinMol reads these columns: name, item_type, subtype, sku, unit, price, cost, vat, opening_count, reorder_level, batch_no, expires_on, brand, size, colour, details. Common names such as item, product, MRP, qty and code are understood too.

  • 3

    Check, then import

Up to 5,000 rows a file. KinMol checks every row and tells you which ones have a problem before you import. Rows go in batches of 50, and any row that fails is listed with the reason.

  • 4

    Customers and suppliers

Import customers and suppliers from an Excel or CSV file on their own pages, with a check of every row first.

  • 5

    Your books

In Accounts, open Import. Bring ledgers with their opening balances (name, group, code, opening, phone, email, pan), what each customer and supplier owed you (kind, name, amount, currency, fx_amount, rate, pan, phone, email), or unpaid bills (kind, name, bill_no, bill_date, amount, phone, email). CSV, Excel or a Tally XML export, up to 5,000 rows a file.
